Digital Books - What is all the Fuss About

What is an e-book?  Is it a book I read or listen to?  What can the public library provide me with?  Where can I buy these and how can I listen to them.  Where can I find them for free?

What is all the fuss about?  Keep in mind that Amazon reported that,  As people rushed to fill their freshly unwrapped e-readers – one of the top-selling gadgets this festive season – Amazon  said sales at its electronic book store quickly overtook orders for physical books. Its own e-reader, the Kindle, is now the most popular gift in Amazon's history.”

Come to this presentation to learn all about these e-books.  Learn about the digital book that you can read and the digital books that you can listen to and discover your options for experiencing them.  Librarian and LCCUG President, Sandee Ruth will  explain it all to you.

In today’s computing environment, networks are a huge and growing part of the overall information technology revolution.  From enterprise level Server Farms, to national corporate networks, to the simple everyday home network, connecting computers together is an ever more important part of our daily lives.  Connecting our computers together without the constraints of wires is becoming a way of life for everyone due to the convenience wireless technology offers.  In this presentation, we will examine how we can partake of this convenience by discussing how to set up and configure a basic home wireless network.  We will attempt to do this so that even an individual with limited technical knowledge will at least have a basic understanding of the concepts, practices, and installation techniques necessary to install a wireless home network.
